Giving back is key.
Inspired by the generosity of our employees, Tellabs and the Tellabs Foundation are proud to give back to the community. Tellabs established the Tellabs Foundation, a separate entity that contributed almost US$10 million to nonprofits in its first ten years. Tellabs also invests in the community through a matching gift program, which offers to match employee contributions of time and money.
Tellabs Giving, our 2006 employee campaign, raised more than $500,000 in employee pledges and Tellabs matching gifts to support 324 organizations around the world. Employees embraced the featured nonprofit, Habitat for Humanity, with 500 hours of volunteer time. Employee pledges, plus matching gifts and a Tellabs Foundation grant, raised enough money to sponsor three homes on the U.S. Gulf Coast to rebuild after the hurricanes, and two homes in Indonesia to rebuild in the wake of the Indian Ocean tsunami.
