Our gifts help students achieve a bright future

More than half of our funding goes to create opportunities in education

Tellabs, the Tellabs Foundation and employees are proud to work with nonprofit partners in education. They help people reach their full potential:

Encourage young innovators

  • Junior Achievement (JA) teaches children about business and free enterprise. Tellabs employees have brought real-world experience to more than 350 JA classrooms.
  • The Tech Museum of Innovation delivers science and technology experiences that educate, inform, provoke thought and inspire action. Its annual Tech Challenge, a design competition for students, received support from the Tellabs Foundation and employee volunteers.

Reach underserved students

  • The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation honors Marines by educating their children. The Tellabs Foundation endowed a college scholarship to assist Marines' children who have financial need and major in science, mathematics, technology and engineering.
  • China employees gave to The Cherished Dream Foundation during an annual campaign. Their pledges, plus company matching gifts, will help build 3 school libraries in remote areas.

Strengthen engineering education

  • Helsinki University of Technology updated a Networking Laboratory with a Tellabs Foundation grant. It gives students better tools to research and to learn about Internet technology.
  • A Tellabs Foundation grant supported Purdue University's new facility for electrical and computer engineers. It will help increase faculty, recruit students and expand research.
