From flu shots to leadership development, Tellabs invests in employees
Employees completed about 98,000 hours of training in 2009 — an average of 29 hours per person
Working in 80 nations, Tellabs employs more than 3,000 people. Tellabs strives to help our people do well as we:
- Provide a healthy and safe workplace. We offer ways to improve employee well-being — at work, in the lab, in the field and at home. Employee safety training, wellness screenings and health benefits are among the examples.
- Through global programs we comply with regulations, including U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Our annual reports to OSHA have received zero citations in more than 20 years. Outside the United States, employees regularly meet with managers to help assure health and safety.
- Train and develop our team. We encourage employees to pursue skills to excel in their current positions and achieve future career goals. Tellabs employees completed about 98,000 hours of training, or an average of 29 hours per employee, in 2009.
- Topics range from time management to product life cycle to hazardous material awareness. We offer different formats, including instructor-led classes, self-directed online courses, live web sessions and coaching.
