Sierra Telephone selects Tellabs for Ethernet services
Tellabs® Business Services Solutions decrease costs while increasing speeds
Naperville, Ill. — Sierra Telephone, a service provider in Central California, selected Tellabs to put to rest its network migration challenges. The company wanted to offer new services at lower costs and unparalleled speeds as well as prepare for future demands of residential, business, and government users.
Sierra Telephone is gradually migrating to a new IP- and Ethernet-centric network while supporting existing revenue-generating services and minimizing disruption to current customers. Sierra Telephone chose the Tellabs Business Services Solutions with the Tellabs® 8800 Multiservice Router (MSR) Series as the centerpiece of its 10 Gigabit Ethernet network. Tellabs solutions enable the company to support its existing network while migrating to Ethernet services on one system.

Comprehensive solution
Sierra Telephone has a long standing relationship with Tellabs. The company uses the Tellabs integrated network manager to manage all Tellabs products in the network, including the Tellabs 8800 MSR series, the Tellabs® 5500 Digital Cross-Connect System, Tellabs® 5320L Digital Cross-Connect System and the Tellabs® 1000 Multiservice Access Platform.
