What are the requirements to become a sales partner?
We ask that you have technical expertise in sizeable infrastructure networks, that you complete a partner and credit application, that you agree to participate in product training, that you agree to the rules of engagement regarding direct and indirect sales channels and we mutually sign a sales partner agreement.
We are not a huge organization. How can we succeed without a Gold-Silver-Bronze relationship?
That is the beauty of our program. Not being boxed into strict categories that other vendors require provides you and Tellabs with the flexibility to mutually work together and grow. Bronze levels don't allow some benefits of Silver levels, and even less of Gold levels. We enter into a relationship with sales partners. This ultimately results in more sales for all of us.
Will I receive an exclusive territory if I become a sales partner?
Tellabs is very aware of the danger of too many partners in a region, as well as the hazards of exclusivity. We use a common sense approach and discuss with you vertical markets, coverage, products and addressable customers. We enter into a partner agreement with mutually agreed upon rules of engagement.
What are the details of the partner agreement and the rules of engagement?
Upon examination of your partner and credit application and a discussion about mutual interests and goals, Tellabs will provide these documents for your review and agreement.
Are there costs involved to join and renew each year?
There are no initial application costs involved in joining and no annual category fees to remain a sales partner. There are of course, costs and expenses as a natural part of operating your business to sell and potentially support Tellabs products.
Are we able to select any products in the Tellabs portfolio to sell?
Depending upon your level of networking experience, customers, training and business plan, there may be some restrictions on what products you are authorized to sell.
Must I sign up to offer deployment and tech support services in addition to reselling product?
No. Our program allows you to be an authorized product reseller with the option of offering these services under your own brand or reselling these services and having Tellabs deliver them. Some products are sophisticated and require in depth technical expertise and time investment. Tellabs requires that if you do decide to provide your own support services you must also be a product reseller. We can discuss all the options to help you become successful and profitable.
