The Tellabs 2300 Telephony Distribution System's Host Digital Terminal (HDT) terminates T1 facilities using the industry standard GR-303 protocol for voice traffic. Transceivers within the HDT provide system management and traffic bandwidth to the Tellabs 2300 system's Remote Service Units (RSUs) that provide the voice interfaces on the customer premises.

- The Tellabs 2300 Remote Service Unit (RSU) Screening Station features a modified host digital terminal (HDT) simulating a typical plan environment and verifying the state of more than 15 RSU functions.
- The Tellabs 2330 Remote Indoor Service Unit (RiSU) delivers integrated telephony and cable television to the home or small business over existing hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) networks.
- The Tellabs 2340 Remote Service Unit (RSU) delivers integrated primary-line telephony and cable television services to the home or small business over existing two-way hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) networks.
- The Tellabs 2360 Multi-line Remote Service Unit (RSU/M) delivers primary-line telephony to multiple-dwelling units (MDUs), residential and business, over existing hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) networks.
- The Tellabs 2390 Element Management System (EMS) manages the Tellabs 2300 system from a centralized station through an easy-to use graphical user interface. It operates on a Windows 2000 platform, facilitates rapid deployment of new equipment and services, and creates operational efficiencies for the Tellabs 2300 system.
Working together, the EMS and HDT hardware and software minimize a multi-system operator's (MSO's) operational and capital expenses with an integration of powerful features.
