Tellabs® Products 6315 Metro
Ethernet Node

Use fiber infrastructure more efficiently

Aggregate and transport traffic cost effectively while maintaining quality

The Tellabs® 6315 Metro Ethernet Node is an Ethernet switch designed for traffic aggregation in Metro Area Networks. It enables you to aggregate multiple Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet connections into Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.

This aggregation enables more efficient use of your available fiber infrastructure than typical bandwidth over-provisioning techniques.

The Tellabs® 6315 node offers hard QoS based on MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS). It is ideal for Ethernet-based services such as the triple play of voice, data and video, enterprise Ethernet services and wholesale services.

Customer Benefits

  • The statistical gain can provide as much as 20 times more bandwidth concentration without jeopardizing VoIP traffic
  • Ethernet traffic from up to 38 customers is terminated at the Tellabs 6315 node and then concentrated in the 2 x Gigabit Ethernet uplinks
  • Simultaneous traffic policing and Pseudo-Wire MultiProtocol Label Switching capability ensure adherence to individual customer Service Level Agreements, including quality parameters such as Committed Information Rate, Peak Information Rate and latency
  • The Tellabs® 6315 node, in combination with the rest of Tellabs' Ethernet-over-SDH portfolio, represents a strong blend of cost-effective Ethernet traffic aggregation and transport through SDH networks, offering managed end-to-end hard QoS
