Tellabs® 6300 Ethernet over SDH Operation and Element Management
TLC Keyword: 63EOSDHOEM
Orderable part #: GSST63EOSDHOEM
This course teaches the participants how to install, test, configure and operate the Ethernet-over-SDH (EoSDH) hardware – the ETEXM & ETEXS modules and the Tellabs 6315 metro Ethernet node. Participants will be able to use the Tellabs 6300 craft terminal for configuration and maintenance tasks, and the element management functions of the Tellabs 6300 network manager for setting up EoSDH data services.
Emphasis will be on understanding the Ethernet-over-SDH technology and the concepts behind how to setup Layer 1 point-to-point ‘raw’ Ethernet services, and Layer 2 MPLS and MAC switched services between ETEX modules.
Note! This course does not cover the end-to-end setup of data services using the network management functions of the Tellabs 6300. See the 1-day Tellabs 6300 EoSDH Network Management Add-on course.
Note! This course is a prerequisite for the Tellabs 6300 EoSDH Advanced Operation and Network Management course. The advanced course covers in detail the more intricate setup of Layer 2 service features such as VLAN Stacking/Grouping, definition of QoS Profiles/Classes, MPLS protection and MAC switch configuration. System administration of ETEX modules is also covered in the advanced course.
| Prerequisites: | It is expected that the students have general telecommunications knowledge and are familiar with the following:
Furthermore, prior to attending this course, participants must have attended the appropriate Tellabs 63xx NE Operation and Element Management course. |
| Audience: | This course is intended for planning, O&M and network management staff who will be responsible for planning the use of, and/or installing and operating the equipment. |
