This course teaches the participants how to use the end-to-end network management functions of the Tellabs 6300 network manager for setting up Ethernet-over-SDH (EoSDH) data services.
Participants will learn the use of network management to first build the infrastructure of Packet Links that will be used to transport the Ethernet over the SDH backbone, and then set up the data services, EoSDH data trail alarm handling and performance monitoring.

Note! This course will normally be held as an ‘add-on’ course to the Tellabs 6300 EoSDH Operation and Element Management course to provide instruction in the use of the end-to-end capabilities of the Tellabs 6300 network manager.

Objectives
After taking this course the participant will be able to:

  • Manage the EoSDH services in the Tellabs 6300 network manager
  • Define the network topology (working with the Network Editor)
  • Build up the database infrastructure (creating Packet Links)
  • Use the end-to-end trail setup functions to create the data services
  • Find and display the data services
  • Set up alarm and performance monitoring of the services

 

Prerequisites: It is expected that the students are thoroughly familiar with the Tellabs EoSDH technology.

Prior to attending this course, participants must have attended the following courses:
  • Tellabs 63xx Operation and Element Management course
  • Tellabs 6300 Network Management course
  • Tellabs 6300 EoSDH Operation and Element Management course
Audience: This course is intended for planning, O&M and network management staff who will be responsible for planning the use of, and/or setting up the EoSDH services.
