This course provides knowledge and skills needed to manage a Tellabs 8800 Multi-service Router using the Tellabs 8000 Intelligent Network Manager (INM).

After a brief introduction to the Tellabs 8000 INM, participants will learn how to provision and operate the Tellabs 8800 MSR system to provide MPLS Network, PWEs, L3 VPNs, VPLS, and Traffic Engineering tunnels supported by the Tellabs 8800. This course includes hands-on activities using a Tellabs training lab environment. It is designed to help students learn the concepts that have been presented and reinforce what they have learned.

This course includes an optional end of course assessment, approximately 2.5 hours in duration, which consists of a knowledge test and a performance test. Participants opting to take the course assessment must also enroll in the Tellabs 8800 MSR Nodes with Tellabs 8000 Intelligent Network Manager Assessment (88N8000INMA). Both tests are completed immediately after the training session. Specific day and time is dependent upon session enrollment and equipment availability. Assessments are currently not offered on site.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the Tellabs 8000 INM features supported for Tellabs 8800
  • Provision MPLS core network using Tellabs 8000 INM
  • Provision PW, IP VPNs, and VPLS using Tellabs 8000 INM
  • Configure Traffic Engineering using Tellabs 8000 INM
  • Describe fault management and performance management for Tellabs 8800
Prerequisites: In order to successfully complete this course, it is highly recommended that participants have completed the following training: OR
  • Be able to configure L2/L3 services using CLI on Tellabs 8800 nodes
  • Basic Knowledge of Tellabs 8000 INMS

It is also recommended that students have basic knowledge and practical skills in:
  • TCP/IP and MPLS
Audience: This course is designed for technicians, field deployment, field service, network engineers, and/or technical support personnel who are, or will be, responsible for maintaining a Tellabs 8800 MSR.
