This instructor-led course provides both the knowledge and the skills required to provision and maintain a Tellabs 5500 system utilizing NarrowBand functionality (DS0 Grooming). It has been designed to be non Feature Package specific. It does, however, contain information relevant through Feature Package 12.0.

This course includes a 2-hour optional end of course assessment which consists of a knowledge test and a performance test. Participants opting to take the course assessment must also enroll in the Tellabs 5500 Narrowband Port Shelf Provisioning and Operational Concepts - Assessment (55NPSPOCA). Note: Assessments are currently not offered on site.

  • Time is typically reserved on the last day of class to complete the knowledge test and the performance test.
  • Specific day and time for the performance test is dependent upon session enrollment and equipment availability.
  • Assessments are currently not offered on site.
Prerequisites: Prior to enrollment, students must have completed the Tellabs 5500 Provisioning and Maintenance instructor-led training. It is also highly recommended that students have a basic knowledge of Time Division Multiplex Transport systems and Digital Cross Connect applications.
Audience: This course is designed for any personnel who will be responsible for provisioning or maintaining a Tellabs 5500 system with Narrowband Port Shelves.
