This web-based course is recommended to prepare the student for the instructor-led/hands-on lab training in the Tellabs 5500 NGX Provisioning and Maintenance, FP3.1 course.
After taking this course the students should be able to:
- Identify the overall characteristics of the Tellabs 5500 NGX-S/NGX-MX transport switch
- Identify the main applications of this system switch
- Identify the overall characteristics of the Tellabs MetroWatch element manager
- Identify specific details of the Tellabs 5500 NGX-S and NGX-MX system components
- Identify the access methods for the Tellabs 5500 NGX-S/NGX-MX transport switch
- Identify the key components of the TL1 language
- Identify the technical documentation available and steps to access the documentation
- Identify the types of FP 3.1 upgrade and core expansion scenarios
- Define two types of Uni-Directional Path Switched Ring (UPSR) operations
- Define the Data Communications Channel (DCC) functionality
- Define the command queue feature
- Identify FP 3.1 features supported by the Tellabs MetroWatch-NGX Element Manager
