This instructor-led course provides knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain a Tellabs 5500 NGX-S/NGX-MX system. It has been updated to include FP 3.1 information and lab activities on a FP 3.1 system.

After taking this course the participants should be able to:

  • Perform electrical and optical equipment provisioning
  • Enter cross-connections
  • Establish test access
  • Perform maintenance tasks
  • Isolate and resolve system trouble

This course includes assessment checks.

Prerequisites: In order to successfully complete this course, participants must have:
  • Knowledge of pre-requisite concepts for:
    • Basic telephony and data communications
    • TL1 Language basics
    • Basic fiber handling and safety knowledge is recommended
  • Successfully completed the Tellabs 5500 NGX-S/NGX-MX Provisioning and Maintenance Readiness Test online via our Tellabs Learning Connections web site. Please e-mail the Training Coordinator or call us at +1.800.443.5555 (option 3) for access information.
  • To prepare for this course, it is recommended that the student takes the Tellabs 5500 NGX Fundamentals Overview, FP3.1.
