Ed Sullivan, a technical writer with 30-years of experience, recently published an article in Cabling, Installation & Maintenance magazine, detailing how Amtrak has overhauled its communications systems by renovating the network infrastructure at several of its major terminals. In the CI&M magazine article, Amtrak sites several important reasons why they chose to move forward with Optical LAN, including:

  • Supporting green/sustainability initiatives
  • Far less space, energy and cooling needs
  • Offering superior scalability
  • And, all of the above results in less capital and operational costs
