Introducing the Tellabs FlexSym Series!

Today we announced in a national news release that we are accepting orders for the first products of the Tellabs® FlexSym™ Series and have targeted initial availability for the fourth quarter of 2018. This represents the culmination of significant R&D commitment by Tellabs in the advancement of Passive Optical LAN technologies and confirms Tellabs as the industry leader in the enterprise POL industry.

 

Tellabs FlexSym Series provides the unique ability to serve both 10G XGS-PON and G-PON on the same system, and even on the same PON service card. FlexSym allows LANs to be more efficiently designed by minimizing network footprint, power and expenses compared to legacy copper-based networks and better aligns a contemporary network’s speed, capacity, space and power with costs:

  • Select XFP-based symmetric 10G XGS-PON and 2.5G G-PON at OLT
  • Choose where G-PON ONTs and XGS-PON ONTs are truly needed
  • Mount ONTs in telecom closets and extend ONTs deep inside and outside buildings
  • Optical distribution network split ratio can be designed up to 64 wide splits
  • Single or dual feed Type-B PON redundancy protection for fiber route diversity
  • Extend 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G Ethernet speeds from the ONTs
  • Activate bi-directional AES128 Encryption with churning key with XGS-PON ONTs
  • Options to utilize optical splitters for both singlemode and multimode fiber cabling
  • Built-in reserve systemwide capacity to grow network density, capacity and speeds
  • True enterprise LAN focus supporting all the must-have advanced Ethernet features
  • Provides centralized management with software defined LAN functionality today
  • Enables a path to 100G network uplink and 40 gigabit NG-PON2 for the future
