Remote Subscriber Terminal POTS (R-POTS)

SKU: 0110-0148 Category:

The RST POTS (R-POTS) plug-in card provides six circuits of standard loop start Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) and supports a loop length resistance of 1830 Ohms. The R-POTS card is the Remote Subscriber Terminal (RST) counterpart to the loop terminating L-POTS plug-in card. The R-POTS card provides ring cadence following, local ring trip, on-hook transmission between ring-bursts, and forward disconnect. The card supports Call Message Waiting Indicator (CMWI).

  • On-hook transmission (CLASS) capability
  • Forward disconnect
  • 900 ff structural impedance
  • 1830 ff loop length resistance (including station)
  • Transient protection
  • Remote test access to metallic tip and ring
  • Call Message Waiting Indicator (CMWI)

Scalability

You can insert the R-POTS card into any general purpose slot at a RST, allowing up to 100% slot population in a single shelf.

Voice Service

Install the R-POTS card in the RST to provide universal (TR-57) POTS service and install its counterpart, the L-POTS card, in the Local Exchange Terminal (LET). Otherwise, configure an integrated switch interface (GR-303 or TR-8) at the LET to provide the R-POTS termination.

Testing Capabilities

The R-POTS card has backplane metallic tip-ring access to enable testing using the Metallic Test Unit (MTU) plug-in card. Use the R-POTS card with non-loaded cable.
