The Optical Line Terminal (OLT) provides centralized intelligence, management and control of the end-to-end LAN. It also provides aggregation and distribution functions and typically resides in a building’s main data center. The goal of the Tellabs® 1100 Series Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment is to optimize capital expenditures, energy consumption and space requirements wherever possible. To accomplish that end goal, Tellabs provides a variety of distribution shelves that best match the total number of IP/Ethernet endpoints desired, match power utilization and minimize the physical space required within the main data center.
The Tellabs 1150 OLT is a high-density 23"-wide distribution shelf. It has 2.56 Tbps shelf backplane capacity and 160 Gbps card slot capacity. It can be equipped with either multiple 1 GbE or multiple 10 GbE network uplinks. It supports up to 64 GPON OLT service ports and up to 2,048 ONTs in many different flexible configurations. It supports voice delivering both IP PBX, application servers and unified communications systems, and it can support TDM analog voice when bundled with Tellabs 1000® Voice Gateway.
The Tellabs 1134AC OLT is a low-density 19"-wide distribution shelf with redundant AC to DC power rectifier integrated. By integrating the power rectification, the time and material needed to install this distribution shelf are significantly reduced. Just like the other three Tellabs OLT distribution shelves, this Tellabs 1134AC leverages common software and common service cards.
