T1X Transceiver (T1X-XCVR)
The non-line powering T1 Transceiver (T1X-XCVR) plug-in card provides an indoor ANSI/T1 DSX-1 level interface. It transmits and receives up to 24 DS0s of voice or data originating from either the channel units in the CBA subscriber slots, another T1 transceiver card, or a digital carrier line unit in a digital switch. It operates at the T1 rate of 1.544 Mbps. Use the T1X-XCVR card for applications requiring interface to multiplexers or other co-located equipment.

Faceplate LED Indicators

There are four LED indicators on the T1X-XCVR front panel. A Green ACTV LED indicates a datalink is present. The ACTV LED flashes 120 times per minute in self-test mode, and 60 times per minute in loopback mode. The red FAIL LED indicates a plug-in card failure. The red LOC LED indicates a problem with in coming data (LOF, LOS, high BER, timing slip, or loss of data link). The amber REM LED indicates that the far end is not receiving data. The card can be disabled using CLI commands, in which case the green ACTV LED will turn off (other LEDs may remain on). All LEDs off may indicate either AIS or that the card has been disabled via software. The transceiver features front panel jack access for testing and monitoring.

Alarms, Test and Stastics

The T1X-XCVR has selectable alarm thresholds, BER calculation, performance monitoring statistics, and alarm history.

Line Coding and Signaling

Line coding options are AMI or B8ZS. The T1X-XCVR card performs signaling conversion and datalink termination.

The T1X-XCVR can be easily provisioned from CUI or Tellabs Panorama Element Management System (EMS)
