Reduced power and space requirements
One of our major North American network operator customers was able to collapse five (5) telco racks loaded with 25 channel banks of both D4 and 1/0 DCS systems into one (1) Tellabs 1000 MSAP system, utilizing one (1) telco rack. Basically, 200 circuits (e.g. DDS, E&M, ISDN, UVG, Special Services 2W/4W, FX, DID, ETO, PLAR) in 200 old plug-in cards were reconfigured into just 95 Tellabs 1000 plug-in cards. This new configuration saved the service provider energy, space and money.
