Touchdown for Tellabs and our Partners at #TLPC2018!

On January 16th and 17th, Tellabs hosted what has become the premier Passive Optical LAN industry event for our

resellers and partner ecosystem – the 2018 Tellabs Partner Conference (#TLPC2018). We had an “All in!” football theme for this year’s conference, held at the Omni Hotel in Frisco, Texas, which is also the home of the Dallas Cowboys headquarters and their training facility.  The Omni Frisco is a new, fantastic conference location using Tellabs Optical LAN for their guest network.

CEO Jim Norrod’s TLPC2018 kick-off

Day-1 – On Tuesday, CEO Jim Norrod kicked-off this event sharing milestones from 2017 and his vision for success in 2018. Throughout the day, our partners heard from the Tellabs Team (identified by our jerseys) speaking on how to move leads down the field, with a focus on ensuring that our partners understand the processes and people that can help them ensure that their customers are delighted throughout the entire sales journey.

To close out the afternoon, we came together as a team to create 46 blankets that we donated to the Homeless Coalition of Dallas to distributed to people in need in the Dallas area.  Jesse Sledge spoke to the attendees about his passion for the homeless in Dallas.  This was the second year that we had the privilege of serving the community through the Homeless Coalition of Dallas.

On Tuesday evening, we hosted our Reception and Guest Vendor Showcase that included POL industry all-pros such as, Belden, 3M, OCC, Extreme Wireless, Ruckus Wireless, Alpha Technologies, EXFO and Prysmian Group.  Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the Omni Frisco Hotel’s Optical LAN installation.

Day-2 – Wednesday highlights included a keynote address from David Hoffeld, based on his bestselling book The Science of Selling. Mr. Hoffeld’s approach combines research in social psychology, neuroscience and behavioral economics to show salespeople how to align the way they sell with how our brains naturally form buying decisions.  Mr. Hoffeld also hosted a workshop that expanded on the ideas presented in the keynote address.
