VDSL2 solutions
Tellabs VDSL2 (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line) products support ITU-T G.993.2 VDSL2 simultaneously with POTS on a single copper pair. The product supports profiles 8a and 17a for wide deployment opportunities and access speeds provided up to 100 Mbps. The Tellabs 1000 MSAP VDSL2 6+6 offers a single solution plug-in for high-speed network access. The VDSL2 6+6B provides deployment and application flexibility. When teamed up with Tellabs 1000 Gigabit Ethernet, it can deliver the highest DSL rates available. It supports standard analog POTS integrated on every pair. Two different VDSL2 profiles can be deployed with simple provisioning options.
VDSL2 8a and 17a profiles
The 8a profile is best for fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) applications. Bit rates are up to 50 Mbps and provide reaches suitable for FTTN topologies while supporting triple play services. If a network operator wants to increase reach or speed, the VDSL2 6+6B supports 2-pair bonding that doubles the bit rates up to 100 Mbps. The second profile is 17a. The 17a uses 17 MHz of bandwidth at much higher frequencies. It can support very high rates, up to 100 Mbps downstream and up to 40 Mbps upstream over a single pair. With the higher frequencies, transmission distance is best for fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) and fiber-to-the-building/basement/equipment closet (FTTB).
VDSL2 and ADSL2+
If reach is critical, the VDSL2 6+6B card can also be provisioned for ADSL2+. In single pair mode applications, the VDSL2 6+6B card supports G.DMT, ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2-annex L, ADSL2+, ADSL2+-PTM and VDSL2 8a & 17a. With two pair bonding applications, the card supports ADSL2+, ADSL2+-PTM and VDSL2 8a & 17a. Flexibility of deployment environments, a broad range of capacity for all services and the capability to reach all customers make the Tellabs 1000 VDSL2 6+6B card an ideal choice for using a single product type to support all customers and environments.
